About
The Château Des Granges d'Or is a family business (LLEU & JOANNON) since 1973, it passed into a limited company in 1998. The vineyard is composed of: 27 ha of vines and 30 ha of cereals. The vineyard produces wines well constituted and appreciated (Silver medal for the vintage 1998 at the general agricultural competition of Paris).
The Château des Granges d'Or is located in one of the most renowned appellations in France: Le Médoc, more precisely in the town of Blaignan. The Médoc is one of the Bordeaux vineyards very famous for their red wines. This appellation is located in the department of Gironde, which owes its name to the longest estuary in Europe that jointly form the Garonne and the Dordogne. The climate of the Gironde region is hot and humid (temperate climate), it is a great asset to produce quality wines and to obtain a good balance between the main constituents: alcohols, acidity and tannin. Its place near the estuary and the Atlantic Ocean gives a regulatory influence. No excessive cold in winter or too much heat in summer.
