In 1803, in Les Sables d’Olonne, on the West coast of France, Mister YOU opens his clog factory. A few years later, Mister YOU meets Madam YOU. This love story gives birth to the brand name “YOUYOU”.
Youyou is an institutional footwear brand in the department of Vendée. It represents our roots, a living folklore and a landmark.
200 years later, also from Vendée, Charlotte Durand, previously the Production Director and brand development for Isabel Marant, Yves Saint Laurent and Sandro, bought the brand and is proud to hold the torch and carry on the mythical original clog from Les Sables. She revisits the iconic YOUYOU clog and each season develops new models in line with current trends.
With concern about the quality of her product and its environmental impact, Charlotte takes great care to ensure that the manufacturing and design of YOUYOU clogs is of high quality while respecting the planet's ecology. She strives to choose noble and renewable materials. The product is sourced from European “Green” manufacturing and includes the use of natural tanning and even recycled cardboard shoe boxes that can be reused.
